We value a flexible design process, utilising different methodologies for different tasks – Design Sprints for conceptual work, Kanban for quick tasks, and so on. Everything we do starts with Design, and a designer co-owns every project. Above all, everyone on the team has a GSD attitude: we Get Shit Done.

On a typical day, most projects follow the same basic path:

Planning

Agility is key, and our roadmap is influenced by everything from product experiments to marketing requirements. At least once a quarter, we synchronise our backlog with teams across the entire company.

Kickoff

We believe that innovation thrives in small, autonomous groups because they can iterate and communicate faster, so we organise dedicated work groups for each project, beginning with establishing the core goals.

Discovery

The discovery phase is crucial, and it runs right through spitballing to identifying the strongest potential solutions. Our UX research, marketing and customer support teams are all heavily involved.

Review and critique

Constant communication is invaluable, so we make sure our designers have daily opportunities to touch base with the rest of the team and collect regular feedback.

Prototyping and iteration

Prototyping helps us to collect feedback, avoid mistakes and improve the overall quality. In the past, we’ve created prototypes for everything from new registration flows to matchboxes.

Building and testing

We believe that innovation thrives in small, autonomous groups because they can iterate and communicate faster, so we organise dedicated work groups for each project, beginning with establishing the core goals.

Marketing and launch

Marketing a new feature properly is crucial, and we work closely with the marketing team to make sure everything goes without a hitch. After all, when it’s done it’ll be seen by millions of people around the world..
